The Water Supply Pilot Grant Program was appropriated $25 million for fiscal year 2024-25. House Bill 5003 sets forth the requirements of the grant program, which includes the following requirements:
-
The grant may only be provided to a local government. This means a grant cannot be directly awarded to a utility that is not a local government. To be considered for this grant, a private or regional utility must partner with a local government. The project must be within or serving (in whole or in part) the jurisdiction of the sponsoring local government.
-
The grant is for water supply infrastructure, including distribution and transmission facilities. No other project types are eligible.
-
The infrastructure project must be located within Regions I and II of the Northwest Florida Water Management District. This includes only Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties.
-
Match of 50% (local, federal or private funding equal to the grant award requested) is required if a developer is involved in the project. Match for all other projects is not an eligibility requirement.
